The Circle of Fifths and Fourths
The Circle of Fifths:
To begin, read the chart clockwise by adding one sharp to the key after the Key of C major/ A-Minor, which always has zero sharps or flats in the key, and then move to G Major which has one sharp, D major which has two sharps, and so on. The Circle of Fourths: The other way to read the circle of key signatures is by reading counterclockwise: adding a flat to the key signature as moving around the cycle, starting with C-Major, which has zero sharps or flats, and then moving to F major by adding one flat, B-flat Major by adding two flats, and so on around the cycle.
